Hints for creating a resume that will get an employer’s attention:
Customize your resume for each position. Do not send out a generic resume. Read the job description thoroughly and research the company. When customizing your resume, prioritized your skills and job experiences to match the job description.
Maker sure that your resume is in “bullet” form and that all prior job duties are put in past tense.
Be truthful! Employers are very savvy. They will confirm what is on your resume.
Be sure to spell check and grammar check your resume. Have someone else “proof” it. Even one mistake can keep you from getting that perfect job.
Cute e-mail addresses are fun for family and friends, but not for job seeking. Think “professional” when choosing an e-mail address.
The same goes with phone messages! Music and funny messages are not appropriate when searching for a job. Potential employers do call. Be professional in all ways, including your phone message.
